Bangkok receives about 16 million tourists each year, making it one of the most visited places in Asia. It is best known for its numerous Buddhist Temples, but there is more to that about Bangkok. To find out about it, try the following activities and attractions when you visit the city.
Places to See
Temple of Dawn – This temple is best known for its tall spire that stands at 70 meters and covered with pieces of porcelain and glass that gives it its majestic glow, especially during the night. A closer look will take your breath away with its intricate architecture.
Temple of the Reclining Buddha – You will find here a 46-meter long reclining Buddha in gold. The standard practice here is to drop some pennies on bronze bowls that line the wall, which they say will make your wishes come true.
The Escape Hunt Experience – Do you have a penchant for detective stories? Then this is a place you must definitely visit. You and your group will be faced with the challenge of solving a murder mystery and only by doing so will you be able to escape. There are many challenges to try so if you got hooked to it you may even try them all.
Things to Do
Shop Your Heart Out – Bangkok is one of the famed shopping areas of Asia. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is the one most visited by tourists because of its wide array of merchandize in very affordable prices.
Eat Local Dishes – Expect to taste a lot of spicy dishes in Bangkok, attributed mainly to its Indian influence, so do not be surprised to find green curries and hot soups in the restaurant menu. Generally, though, most of their dishes are rich in flavor because of their love for natural herbs.
Cruise by the Canals – You can rent a boat that will guide you through the canals in Bangkok or you may even get in the middle of the floating market to get your share of fresh fruits and vegetables from vendors who are in boats too.
